The Poison of Gossip

I am more deadly than a screaming shell from the howitzer. I win without killing .

I tear down homes, break hearts, and wreck lives. I travel on the wings of the wind.

No innocence is strong enough to intimidate me , no purity pure enough to daunt me.

I have no regard for truth. no respect for justice, no mercy for the defenseless.

My victims are as numerous as the sands of the sea, and often as innocent.

I never forget and seldom forgive. My name is Gossip.

Happy Mother's Day !!!

I came across this poem and thought it appropriate to share as we celebrate the remarkable women in our lives this Mother’s Day.

BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Spit on.
Chewed on.
Pottied on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much love or so much pain before I was a Mom.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

They Missed HIm

They were looking for A Lion, He came as a Lamb, and they missed Him.

They were looking for a Warrior, He came as a Peace maker, and they missed Him.

They were looking for a King, He came as a Servant, and they missed Him.

They were looking for Liberation from Rome, He submitted to the Roman cross, and they missed Him.

They were looking for a fit to their mold, He was the mold maker, and they missed Him.

They were looking for their temporal needs to be met. He came to meet their eternal needs, and they missed Him.

He came as a Lamb to be sacrificed for your sin. Will you miss Him?

He came to make peace between God and man. Will you miss Him?

He came to model servanthood for all mankind. Will you miss Him?

He came that we might have true Liberty. Will you miss Him?

He came to give you eternal life. Will you miss Him?

What are you looking for? Lion? Warrior? King? Liberator? What are you looking for?

When we submit to the Lamb we will meet the Lion. Join with the
Peacemaker and we will meet the Warrior. Work with the Servant and we will meet the King. Walk with the Submitted and we will meet the Liberator. Concern ourselves with the eternal and we will have the temporal.

If Jesus is not fitting into the mold you have, then come to the mold maker and get His new one. Submit to His plan for your life and you will see the eternal need met first, then all the other things you have need of will be taken care of as well.

footprints...

Added by Taryn Wiggins
to "Page of the One True God...3 in 1....and Jesus, His son"One night I dreamed I was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Many
scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I
noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were
two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me
because I noticed that during the low periods of my
life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could
see only one set of footprints, so I said to the
Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have
noticed that during the most trying periods of my
life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I
needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The
years when you have seen only one set of
footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Help Me Avoid Toxic Relationships

Heavenly Father, I sometimes get into relationships
that are not good for me.
Please help me better discern how I relate to
the people in my life
and give me the wisdom to know when a relationship
is not giving you glory and is harmful to me.
Bring me courage to avoid toxic relationships
and help nurture what is good and just in all things.

The Secret of Endurance

Before gold is pure it must be tested in the fire. The trials which come your way will test your faith, and out of your struggles your faith can emerge stronger than it ever was before

The rigors which the athlete has to undergo are not meant to make him collapse but to help him develop strength and staying power. For the Christian, our trials are not meant to take the strength out of us, but to put the strength into us. Endurance through trials produces strength. There is no doubt that you will experience trials in your Christian life.

Some new Christians mistakenly believe that being a Christian means living a life free of hassles and struggles. God never promised us freedom from trials; He promised us that He would walk with us through the trials and help us to endure our hardships. No one looks forward to trials, but trials can produce a stronger faith.

You can withstand anything that comes if you remember that every trial is actually a test
